Globally Cooked Brains, Part II

To puff up my assertion that global warming hysteria has naught to do with science, and everything to do with politics, TIME magazine has published an article stating just that. (It's rare the other side makes these things transparent.) Read the language carefully. This is an international movement, not just a national attempt to take away freedoms.

We need to wake up and get our heads out of the slow cooker!

If that isn't enough to scare you, read about how these people are indoctrinating their children religiously (as if 180 days a year in a public school system wasn't sufficient!).

Globally Cooked Brains

I've had it with the global warming garbage! We astute conservatives who actually questioned the pseudo-science dictated to us in our classrooms know that the hype around global warming has more support from Hollywood and socialist policy wonks than real science. If you don't believe me, start looking around on the Internet and you'll find the science is conflicted, at best. Some indications point to a global cooling. And even if evidence existed that the earth is warming, none exists that it is due to manmade carbon emissions! None!

What gets me is how no one cared about global warming except die hard leftist tree huggers UNTIL Hollywood jumped on the bandwagon. Leonardo di Caprio gets a Prius and, suddenly, those in the cool crowd couldn't get one fast enough. What makes me sardonically snicker at those who spend more for a vehicle than they'll receive in savings at the pump are the lifestyles of these feel-good Prius drivers. They get together and decide to turn off their power for an hour. (An hour!) They send out emails about this brilliant project, then they hop in their Prius to take Johnny and Suzy to McDonald's (for some plastic packaged salad, of course) so they can drop Suzy off at soccer and Johnny at ballet. (Another sad commentary altogether.) Heaven forbid they stay at home for a home-cooked meal and a board game together. They drink bottled water and then toss the bottles in the trash (but they've reused the bottles twice!) . These are not environmentalists. These are grown-ups caught up in the moment. But be forewarned--for seasoned Socialist politicians, ahem, I mean Democrats, this moment is the opportune time to install some permanent legislation to burden the economy and the taxpayer, all in the name of "saving the environment".

Meanwhile, us true conservatives, who believe in CONSERVING our belongings responsibly, are making meals at home, drinking tapwater and staying at home more often than not. Not because I think polar bears and porpoises deserve a better future. As a Christian, I am not a member of the consumption mentality--you know, buying and buying without appreciating that what God has already blessed us with. As a pro-defense conservative, I believe we should wean ourselves off of fossil fuels for our national security and economy. As a fiscal conservative, I like to conserve my wallet's stuffing. You know what? This true conservative lifestyle does more to conserve the environment than the global warming crowd could possibly attempt--even for a whole hour.
