Christmas Hold'Em

I saw a poker-themed stocking for sale at our local Menard's this year. If you are so addicted to poker/gambling that you buy (or your family buys you) a stocking to showcase your "passion", the true meaning of Christmas has completely eluded you.

It's one thing to have secular Christmas characters like Rudolph displayed on a stocking, but the American market has reached a new low exploiting the Christmas holiday when we sell stockings adorned with clubs, spades, diamonds and hearts.

Shameful.

I don't have one, but that's for Santa to take care of!

Seriously, this would be a meaningful gift for a Christian in your life. We could all use the words of God coming into our heads more often.

We do not understand why this happened, but our hearts go out to his family as they grieve and deal with this tragedy. We will miss Nathan and treasure the memories we have of him as a boy, a teenager, and finally, a man.

Our prayers are with this family.
