Winning the War against Islamo-fascism

Larry Elder makes a good case that Clinton lied (I mean "misinterpreted" intelligence documents) to garner support for American intervention in Kosovo. His point is meant to take heat off of Bush for his supposed lies that convinced Congress to invade Iraq.

While it may be true that both presidents misrepresented threats in order to bolster their invasion arguments, such acknowledgment of "mistakes" does not justify the war in Iraq. No, the war in Iraq can be justified by a number of other reasons (to fight the terrorists on soil other than the North American continent, to confiscate the country's chemical and biological weapons--which we did--, to rid the world of a crazy, egregious dictator whose troops fired at U.S. aircraft on a regular basis, etc).

Larry Elder's article seems to childishly say, "But Mom, Bill Clinton lied too!" I do not believe that is his entire message. And indeed, Elder ends his argument with a call to drop the name-calling and tattling and instead concentrate our efforts on ridding the world of Islamo-fascist terrorists. Amen.
